Die Bewegung OccupyWallstreet kampiert seit gut 2 Wochen friedlich in einem Park beim New Yorker Finanzzentrum. Der Ort war gerade in den vergangenen Tagen Treffpunkt vieler Aktivisten aus den ganzen USA und von Overseas.
Der New Yorker Bürgermeister hat jetzt zusammen mit seinem Polizeichef angekündigt, den Zuccotti-Park zu räumen. Vorgebliche Begründung: Reinigung des Geländes. Angekündigt für danach: eine streng polizeilich überwachte Rückkehr von Protesierenden ist (vielleicht) möglich.
Neben dieser Begründung führt Bürgermeister Bloomberg noch ein anderes Argument an: die Demonstranten hinderten hart arbeitende New Yorker an ihrer Tätigkeit. Das ist wahr: die Besetzer möchten tatsächlich etwas Sand ins Getriebe des rasenden Finanz-Karussells streuen.

Zwei Dinge über die traurige Verfassung politischer Institutionen und öffentlichen Räumen sind dabei besonders bemerkenswert: zum einen die Person des Bürgermeisters. Er heißt Bloomberg und sein Name ist auch in Frankfurt wohlbekannt. Aber nicht als Bürgermeister, sondern als wichtiger Spieler im globalen Finanzgeschäft. Seine Agentur “Bloomberg” liefert Informationen und Software rund um die Finanzwelt und machte den Herrn zum Finanz-Milliardär. Verständlich, dass er selbst als Wallstreet-Champion möchte, dass die Arbeit an den Moneymachines dort ungestört verläuft. (man sehe sich für ein aufschlußreiches Stimmungsbild die Parade der Finance-Manager auf seinem Portal zu Occupy an. Nicht einwickeln lassen)
Zum andern die Veranlasser der beabsichtigten Parkräumung. Das “öffentliche” Gelände ist nämlich – wie soll es an diesem Ort auch anders sein – im Privateigentum eines Immobilienkonzerns, eines weiteren Akteurs der Finanzwelt. Dass die auch was gegen Betriebsstörungen haben…, naja.
Jedenfalls schließt sich so der Kreis: die Besetzung der Gesellschaft durch Finanz-Regime ist bereits weit fortgeschritten. Das gilt auch bei uns: von den politischen Schaltzentralen über die öffentlichen Räume, die Medieneinrichtungen bis zu unseren Wohnungen.
Deswegen sollten wir beginnen, die Richtung der Besetzungen umzukehren.
Räumung??? Wie plump!
Der Bürgermeister könnte das Ganze als Event und Werbung für die “Marke New York” betrachten.
Er könnte eine riesige Bühne aufbauen und politisch engagierte Bands und Hollywoodstars Auftritte geben lassen.
(Das würden die für den guten Zweck und die eigene Promotion vielleicht sogar kostenlos)
Er könnte Snacks und hübsche T-Shirts mit “Occupy Wallstreet” verkaufen lassen und Touristen zu diesem Event holen.
Die Wallstreet-Banker könnten ihre Geschäfte so lange per IPhone oder Android abwickeln oder sich an einem der schönen Verkaufs-Stände einen politisch korrekten vegetarischen Snack reinziehen.
