Kämpfe um Wohnraum in der Eurokrise
Im Zuge der Eurokrise wurden Miet- und Hypothekenschulden, Zwangsräumungen und in der Folge die Unsicherheit des eigenen Wohnraums für zahlreiche Menschen zu einer alltäglichen Erfahrung. Vom individuellen Leid, dass diese Entwicklungen mit sich bringen, zeugen unter anderem erhöhte Risiken für Depressionen und andere psychische Erkrankungen oder Suizide, die in unmittelbarem Zusammenhang mit Zwangsräumungen stehen. Bestehende oder geplante Schutzrechte für Wohnraum gerieten gleichzeitig auf Betreiben der ‘Troika’ – der Europäischen Kommission, der EZB und dem IWF – und nationalen Regierungen unter Druck. Trotzdem gelang es Betroffenen in vielen Fällen, sich selbstorganisiert zur Wehr zu setzen, etwa mit Blockaden von Zwangsräumungen, erfolgreichen kollektiven Beratungen zur Unterstützung individueller Fälle oder der Wiederaneignung leerstehender Häuser.
Auf der Veranstaltung werden Aktivist_innen von Solidarity4all (Griechenland), der Plattform der Hypothkenbetroffenen PAH (Spanien) und von Action – Diritti in Movimento (Italien) über die Kämpfe um Wohnraum in ihren Ländern und Städten berichten.
