Europäische Zentralbank (EZB): Trotz umfassender Videoüberwachung – Gedenkstätte für Naziopfer von Rechtsextremen verunstaltet

Die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) betreibt auf ihrem Gelände und darüber hinaus exzessiv Videoüberwachung: Am Eingangsbereich der EZB für BesucherInnen wird die gesamte Sonnemannstraße auf voller Breite überwacht. Auch frei und öffentlich zugänglichen Bereich am Mainufer außerhalb des EZB-Geländes ist im Visier der EZB-Kameras. Und auf dem Gelände der EZB selbst sind dutzende Kameras weiterer installiert.
Trotzdem konnten vor wenigen Tagen rechtsextreme Schmierfinken die auf dem EZB-Gelände befindliche Gedenkstätte für mehr als 10.000 ermordete jüdische Frankfurter BürgerInnen mit Schmierereien (siehe Foto) verunstalten.
Die Hessenschau berichtet am 19.04.2016: „An der Europäischen Zentralbank ist eine Mahnmal-Mauer mit dem Symbol einer rechtsextremen Bewegung beschmiert worden. Der Kreis mit dem griechischen Buchstaben Lambda im Inneren ist das Symbol der rechtsextremen ‚Identitären Bewegung‘… Der oder die Täter hinterließen außer dem Kreis mit dem Lambda… auch die Abkürzung ‚IB‘… Ein Foto, das die Hinterlassenschaft der Sprayer dokumentiert, hat der Frankfurter Stadtverordnete Martin Kliehm (Linke) via Twitter veröffentlicht… Besprüht wurde nun die Wand vor einer hohen Sicherheitsglasscheibe, die den Zugang vom öffentlichen Weg auf das EZB-Gelände mit dem Großmarktkeller als Kernstück der Gedenkstätte abriegelt. Besuche dort sind nur unter großen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen und vorheriger Anmeldung möglich.“
Ergänzend muss festgestellt werden: Wer bis zum Zugang zur Gedenkstätte für die deportierten jüdischen FrankfurterInnen vorgedrungen ist, ist auf diesem Weg im Visier von mehr als einem halben Dutzend Videokameras gewesen.
Umso mehr erstaunt, was die Hessenschau über die Reaktion der Frankfurter Polizei mitteilt: „Die Schmiererei beschäftigt auf Kliehms Initiative hin auch die Polizei. Die Aussicht, die Schuldigen zu finden, ist nicht groß. ‚Da muss man die Täter in der Regel auf frischer Tat ertappen‘, sagte ein Polizeisprecher…“
